Insurgency: Sandstorm is a team-based tactical first-person shooter based on lethal combat in confined spaces and goal-oriented multiplayer gameplay. However, in Survival mode, if you don't stick together your team will quickly crumble and you'll lose. ![]() While it's obvious that working together is a core component of Insurgency: Sandstorm's intense gameplay, in most modes players can go off on their own and fare relatively well. It requires a lot of teamwork and planning to ensure that no one gets left behind or killed unexpectedly. Survival is a brutal game mode that is challenging for even the most veteran of players. However, ammunition is in short supply, so you'll have to capture various scattered points across the map in order to replenish your supplies. You'll start with nothing but a pistol and must kill the enemy in order to steal their weapons. The player and their team are dropped into one of Insurgency: Sandstorm's many vast maps and is tasked with surviving against an onslaught of enemy AI. Survival is another of Insurgency: Sandstorm's many cooperative modes and is by far the best mode in the game. Without proper teamwork and coordination, you'll almost certainly falter. Attempting to keep your positions safe from the incoming enemy team all while pushing forward and breaking through their defenses is incredibly difficult. While Push has an attacking team and a defending team, Frontline has two attacking teams who must also simultaneously attempt to defend their own objectives. However, where Frontline differs and therefore exceeds is by having both teams attempt to complete this objective. Not unlike Push, Frontline has the player progress through a series of objectives with their team trying to take each one before destroying the final weapon cache. ![]()
